Our family faced many challenges when our very independent mother was having trouble caring for herself after recovering from a stroke and then suffering a fall that left her with a broken arm. And we in the family didn’t all agree on what were the best choices. A.R.M. offered us a professional, objective assessment of the situation and a list of available resources to address our needs to improve Mom's state of mind and quality of life. A.R.M. even called Mom’s doctor to get a physician’s order for some PT/OT that was covered by insurance. They took away the burden of trying to figure out what we needed to do and how to get it done, which allowed us to focus on what was most important—providing the best possible care for our mother.
I am writing to say “thank you” for providing such an incredible service. When my father passed away suddenly I was overwhelmed with all of the decisions that had to be made in regard to my mother who was left behind, suffering from Alzheimer’s. Because my father was in denial, he covered for her very well, so my siblings and I really had no idea as to how advanced the disease had become. My father had not ever had her formally diagnosed, and he had made no plans for her future in his absence.
A.R.M. helped me prioritize what decisions needed to be made first, and how to carry them out along with assisting me in answering all of these questions. In addition, they provided general support when I thought I was ready to lose my mind, and called to check on me to make sure all was going ok.
I would highly recommend this service to anyone who may be dealing with aging parents or relatives. Libby
